Slurry Mixing
Slurry Tank Mixers (Clay Lime, Magnesium Hydroxide, Calcium Carbonate etc.)
Pulsair's slurry mixing process is more cost effective and energy efficient than side-entry electrical mechanical mixers, eductors . The "bottom up" flow pattern of Pulsair mixers is ideal for keeping slurries and settled solid materials in suspension. Pulsair mixers are designed to involve 100% of the tank's contents. Since Pulsair mixing systems have the ability to mix at any liquid level, the entire slurry mix remains in a constant, uniform suspension resulting in a more thorough emptying process.
Examples of proven slurry mixing:
- Lime slurry mixing
- Magnesium Hydroxide mixing
- Calcium carbonate mixing
- Concrete slurry mixing - raw mill slurry sump
- Clay slurry mixing
- Gypsum slurry mixing
Suitable for any size tank, any liquid level and any number of tanks:
- Clay slurry barges & tankers
- Storage tanks
- Drums & Totes
- Clay slurry rail car
Slurry mixing benefits from using the Pulsair Systems mixing process:
- Uniform suspension
- More efficient than top-down impellers, mechanical mixers and jet mixers
- Efficient Mixing - Pulsair's "bottom-up mixing" technique and the "scouring" effect around each accumulator plate is uniquely suited to suspend solids and prevent build-up on the tank floor.
- High energy savings - due to sequential injection and low consumption of air
- More efficient than mechanical or eductor mixers - by harnessing gravity, Pulsair is far more efficient than any mechanical mixer
- Maintenance free - traditional mechanical mixers require maintenance programs, frequent repairs, and stocking of spare parts all due to the stress of mixing heavy slurries. Pulsair bubbles are not prone to stress and strain, so Pulsair mixers are virtually maintenance free.
- No tank down time - slurry tanks are routinely taken out of service every few months to clean out the build up. Pulsair dramatically increases the length of time between cleanings and often eliminates the need for clean out altogether. A 26,000-gallon poly tank containing 35% lime slurry with a Pulsair mixing system installed showed no noticeable build-up over a 10-month period.
- Programmable Operations - Programmable control options allow a facility to manage mixing functions in multiple tanks from a single point
- Simple installation - no baffles are required, and in some cases, tanks can be retrofitted without taking the tank(s) out of service
