BNR (Biological Nutrient Removal)

BNR (Biological Nutrient Removal) process is a newly mandated requirement for wastewater treatment. Nutrients must be removed from the water before it can be discharged back into a body of water or stream. The purpose is to reduce the nitrogen, which tends to produce excessive plant growth. The Pulsair system functions both for aerobic and anaerobic denitrification by keeping solids in suspension with gentle mixing as the wastewater travels through the tanks.

Benefits of Pulsair's wastewater mixing systems for BNR treatment.

  • Reduce nitrogen - Pulsair process functions extremely well in aerobic and anaerobic denitrification tanks
  • Suspend solids - Pulsair mixers keep solids from resting on the tank or basin floor
  • Gentle mixing - air bubble mixing does not cause shear
  • Reduced costs - due to sequential injection of air our systems use less energy
  • Lowers overall operational and maintenance costs

Contact us today and learn how our mixing systems can help reduce nitrogen, suspend solids, and greatly reduce energy costs in your BNR wastewater treatment process.
