Cell Phone: A Great Trouble Shooting Tool

On the rare occasion that a customer has a problem, probably the most useful piece of troubleshooting equipment is a cellular telephone. If the customer has a cell phone, we ask them to go to the controller and call us back. Then we can talk them through the troubleshooting sequence while we listen to how the system sounds. (See Getting in touch with us at PULSAIR for phone numbers.)

One customer, whose only PULSAIR operator was on vacation, phoned PULSAIR World Headquarters in Bellevue, WA, USA. When they first called, they couldn't even describe the problem except to say that "it doesn't work". After calling us back from the PULSAIR unit on a cell phone, it took about ten seconds for us to diagnose and fix the problem. It was nothing more than an incorrect Dwell setting.
