Duron Paints and Wallcovering

Duron Paints and Wallcoverings has installed two PULSAIR systems, one for Baltimore and the other for Atlanta.

Duron in Baltimore purchased a PPC-25/25 graphical operator terminal (GOT). This Pulsair control system comes with touch screen for entering all of the mixing variables. The system will be used for mixing drums, totes and colorant tanks. The colorant tanks look like oversized drums whose circumference narrows at the base. The system was delivered with enough equipment to set up 18 mixing stations. Two stations are being set aside for powering mechanical mixers from the Pulsair PPC. The remaining 5 stations are spares that can be added at a later date.

The Atlanta system is a PPC-15/15 operator interface terminal (OIT). This system comes with a keypad interface and LCD display for inputting the mixing parameters. Again, the Atlanta system was purchased with 8 mixing stations plus 2 stations dedicated for mechanical mixers. The remaining 5 are spares for future additions.

The actual station will be made up of a solenoid actuated injection valve that will be attached to the header. A flexible, self-coiling air hose, similar to what we ship with our 10-55 Tote-Stick, will be attached to the injection valve. Mixing is as simple as fork lifting the container to the mixing station and quick connecting the air hose. The PPC provides all of the monitoring and control necessary to facilitate multiple tank mixing.
