Mobil Oil Singapore

PULSAIR has a 12 tank installation at Mobil Oil in Singapore. Three of the tanks were located in a tank farm adjacent to the blending control room. The other nine tanks were located in a farm about 1,500 meters away. To accomplish PULSAIR control of the nine remote tanks would have required running 36 conductors (four for each tank) a distance of one mile.

PULSAIR engineered a solution that cut the number of conductors down to a two wire twisted pair. A receiver was built for the remote site, and a communications module was installed in the master PRSC. With this, it became possible to communicate down the twisted pair to all nine tanks in the remote tank farm. With this modification, the PRSC effectively manages the PULSAIR mixing in all 12 tanks from one, central location.
