Portable Probe Length

The standard 5-55 Drum-Stick probe length is 40". The Drum-Stick probe reaches to the bottom of a 55 gallon drum (about 34 inches) and is long enough to compensate for the bung clamp which is 5-1/2" long. We also stock 48" Drum-Stick probes for the occasional non-standard order.

The standard 10-55 Tote-Stick probe length for both the single plate and 5-plate array is 60". However, because there are many different IBC sizes, we offer the 10-55-probe in lengths up to 78" at no extra charge. The 5-plate array requires a tote lid with a 22-1/2" opening. The 5-plate array can be installed through lid openings down to 8". These installations are more difficult because the array must be assembled inside the tote.

The 5-55 probe, which has a 1.75" diameter accumulator plate, can be modified so that it can be attached to the 10-55 power head. This is especially useful for mixing in "bag-in the-box" IBCs that have only a 2" bung. The 10-55 power head delivers the punch needed for mixing totes, while the 5-55 probe fits through the 2" bung opening. Accessorizing PULSAIR portables with quick disconnects makes it easy to switch out probes for mixing different products and different tanks.

In summary, we can configure a 5-55 Drum-Stick or a 10-55 Tote-Stick probe to meet almost any tank shape or size, in most cases for very little added expense to the customer.
