Converting SCFM to Cubic Meters per Hour

Many customers need to know how much air a PULSAIR system will consume in order to budget their existing air capacity or size a new compressor. Many USA customers, including some overseas, want the rate of air flow quoted in Standard Cubic Feet per Minute (SCFM). Sometimes, though, we need to quote the air flow into Cubic Meters per Hour, the metric standard.

In most cases SCFM and CFM are interchangeable as far as PULSAIR is concerned. However, to convert SCFM to Cubic Meters per hour, multiply the CFM or SCFM value by 60 and divide by 35.3145 (the number of cubic feet in a cubic meter) or just multiply by 1.699.

SCFM x 1.699=Cu. Meters per hour
Cu. Meters per hour x 0.588=SCFM

*Standard means that the value has been adjusted for barometric pressure, temperature and moisture content.
