Pulsair Touch Screen Controls As customers have asked us to built PPC systems to handle more and more tanks, the traditional control systems have become increasingly complex with greater power requirements. In response, Pulsair Systems has simplified the controls with a new Touchscreen Control, one which requires a fraction of the power. |
PULSAIR has built a PPC-32/32 system to control mixing in 32 soy sauce fermentation tanks in Vancouver, B.C. This system employs a graphical operator terminal (GOT) instead of the operator interface terminal (OIT) that we use for systems controlling 20 or fewer tanks. The GOT is a touch screen, simplifies operations, and it has lower power requirements compared to the OIT, which is a 10-key, LCD interface.
Its a little more expensive; however, the added features and benefits make it a very attractive control system. The first screen for example is a layout of the tank farm. The operator simply touches the tank she is interested in and the screen immediately switches to a detail of the tank, including all of the control features (start, stop, delayed start, continuous, intermittent, dwell injection time etc.). Making choices by touching the screen allows the operator to establish the mixing parameters for each tank. The information is stored in memory until changed by the operator.
When systems include more than 20 to 24 tanks we think it is wise to use the touch screen GOT.
