Wastewater Application:
150,000 Gallon Batch Tank
Tom McClanaghan, Environmental Equipment Enterprises, Inc. (3E) shared this story with us. Tom supplies flocculation chemicals to the wastewater treatment industry and is a Pulsair Representative.
A need existed to properly and thoroughly mix an above ground carbon steel vertical storage tank with a capacity in excess of 150,000 gallons. Traditional means of agitation were considered (ie electrical motor driven agitator, air sparging, etc.) None of these options appeared to provide the range of flexibility required. Ultimately the Pulsair mixing system was chosen to mix the waste treatment tank because of its cost, efficiency and versatility. The mixer is doing a fantastic job mixing a wide rage of industrial wastewater containing oil and trace metals. It affords the treatment facility the ability to adjust the mixing from very vigorous to a gentle roll. This is important for wastewater applications because it is often necessary to have more shear for the coagulation reaction and low shear for the flocculation step. The pulsair mixing system makes this easy, effective and affordable.
