Sparger System

Diving Pool Sparger System

Pulsair's SoftWater Landing System is dive well sparging (bubbler) system that provides a soft water landing by aerating the water below a dive station with a soft cushion of aerated water for divers during training. We do this by introducing diffused air into the water below the diving boards and platform towers. The system is operated by using a small hand held remote control transmitter (radio). The coach or diving trainer can select and energize the diffuser system by simply pushing a button on the transmitter. Pushing the same button again turns the system off. The Pulsair SoftWater Landing System helps to reduce energy costs by operating for a pre-set number of seconds only using the air required to protect the diver for a single diver. Managed air is much more efficient than old fashioned manually operated systems. The SoftWater Landing System also quickly mixes the pool when chemicals are added.

Pulsair's diving bubbler system is a dry pipe system. Precision air regulators prevent water from entering the air line piping system. Increasing the pressure during diving meets will mark the water surface for divers with tiny bubbles.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS

There are three major components to the system, the compressor, diffusers and piping system and the controls.

CompressorThe compressor is a 30 horsepower Ingersoll-Rand Rotary compressor mounted on a 120 gallon receiver. The compressor package includes coalescing and charcoal filters, a regulator and remote motor starter.

Diffusers and Piping SystemThere is on Soft Water strip for the 3 meter diving board. The strip will be embedded in the pool bottom and supplied by a 2" pipe.

Control SystemThere are several components to the control system, the transmitter, receiver, power supply, injection valve and interlocks. The control system will require a 115 VAC supply and a hard-wire connection between the control station and the compressor.

Remote Control Transmitter The one-channel control transmitter is similar to a television or other remote control device. The transmitter case is made of high impact plastic with a fully sealed membrane type switches to provide a dirt and moisture free environment. The unit is small and light enough to be placed in shirt pocket or hung around the neck on a lanyard. The switches are alternate action; pushing once turns the system on.

The Pulsair SoftWater Landing System can be installed during construction or when the finished pool is filled with water or empty.

"We've had the Pulsair SoftWater Landing System installed in our pools for the past six years and the system has worked flawlessly. It meets a variety of needs for our divers and is an essential training tool for beginning and national championship caliber divers. Any college or university that is considering sponsoring a competitive diving program should have a bubbler system."

"Our new Pulsair bubbler systems allows our athletes to work on new dives that previously they were not able to out of fear of landing incorrectly. They can now push themselves farther and throw new dives because they know they have a cushion of air to soften their landing."
